The IWQOL is a 74-item self-report instrument that assesses the perceived effect of weight on quality of life in eight key areas-health, social interpersonal life, work, mobility, self-esteem, sexual life, activities of daily living, and comfort with food. A higher score on some scales indicated better functioning, whereas on others, a higher score indicated poorer functioning. Those scales in which higher scores indicated higher levels
