In this section, we present the ‘Evidence to Decision (EtD) Frameworks’ developed by the COMPAR-EU panels to formulate recommendations for the selected interventions for four chronic conditions: type 2 diabetes, obesity, COPD and HF.

EtD frameworks include three main sections that reflect the main steps in going from evidence to a decision: formulating the question, making an assessment of the evidence, and drawing conclusions. The research evidence was reviewed within the different working packages and by several COMPAR-EU partners. Results were presented to disease specific COMPAR-EU panels who conducted judgements for all the EtD criteria leading to recommendations on SMIs interventions compared to usual care.

EtD frameworks are a transparent way to inform users about the judgments that were made and the evidence supporting those judgments by making the basis for trustworthy recommendations to target audiences.
