The GPE quantifies a patient's global improvement or deterioration over time. There are three different scales for the GPE: A 7 point scale, a 6 point scale and an eleven point scale. The GPE is measured on an 11-point scale ranging from − 5/5 (vastly worse) to + 5/5 (completely recovered).
