The PSPP is a 30 item questionnaire in the forced choice format, which asks participants to indicate their level of agreement with one of two statements. Fox’s PSPP is scored to produce five subscales: Physical SelfWorth (PSW), Strength (STREN), Conditioning (COND), Sport Competence (SPORT), and Attractive Body (BODY). Each item consists of two contrasting descriptions, and respondents are asked which description is most like them and whether the description they select is “Sort of true of me” or “Really true of me.” Responses are scored on a scale of 1 to 4, with 1 representing a “Really true of me” response to the negative statement and 4 representing a “Really true of me” response to the positive statement.
