The Bruce test is a protocol using a treadmill with adjustable slope to measure the maximum aerobic ability of a patient with a formula. Different cut off points were determined for age and gender. The test protocol entails an increase of speed and slope with each time a three minute interval until a mximum fatigue level is reached.
