The scale, consists of five items assessing confidence in participating in exercise in the presence of barriers such as feeling tired, being in a bad mood, not having time, on vacation, and experiencing bad weather. Response options are on a five point Likert-scale, ranging from not confident to extremely confident. Research suggests this scale is one-dimensional, meaning that all the scale’s questions are part of a unique construct, according to factor analysis results. The scale has also shown acceptable reliability and validity among different populations.
