The AAQ-W measures in 22-items the experiential avoidance of unwanted weight related thoughts, feelings and actions. Total and subscale scores are calculated by summing item responses. Higher scores indicate greater weight-related experiental avoidance (EA). Items are rated on a 7-point scale(1 “never true”or“not at all believable”and 7 "always true”or“completely believable”). Higher scores reflect more weight-related experiential avoidance. The AAQW-R, compromise 10 of the 22 items.
