The eight-item SF-WEll was adapted from the 20-item Weight Efficacy Life-Style Questionnaire. TheSF-Well was shorted to decrease participant burden and minor wording changes were made (i.e., from “I can resist eating” to “I can control eating”) to improve the scales relevance to a Hawai‘i-based sample. The ESE assessed participants’ confidence to control eating and engage in healthy eating behaviors in potentially difficult situations. (e.g., “I can control my eating on the weekends”) from 1 (not sure at all) to 5 (completely sure). The final score was an average of the item scores, with higher scores indicating greater self-efficacy.
